  This program was designed for the serious diver. It is no secret that the sport of SCUBA Diving is very equipment intensive. Having the proper knowledge and skills is simply not enough. Underwater Excursions training philosophy is based on three equally important factors: Knowledge, Skills and Equipment.
  Imagine an astronaut preparing for a trip to outerspace. Will all of their skill and knowledge be enough to survive?...NO! Without proper equipment, space exploration would not be possible. Scuba divers are very similar to astronauts, except we explore the ocean's "Inner-Space."
  If you agree that having the proper knowledge, skills and equipment is the key to producing a strong, safe and comfortable diver, then the "Gold Program" was designed for you. The benefits of learning with your own equipment are increased levels of comfort, safety and gear familiarity. Unlike other training programs, never again will you be subject to the possibility of poor fitting rental gear that is unfamiliar to you.

  Have we sold you yet?...Now for the best part. The total cost of this program is......NOTHING! That's right. It is absolutely FREE. All you pay for is the Complete Scuba System of your choice. This program requires a $300.00 deposit at the time of sign-up. Your deposit will be credited back to you at time of equipment purchase. (Example: If the total cost of your complete scuba package totals $1500.00, then you will pay a balance of $1200.00. It's that simple.) At the time of class sign up students will receive their private educational kit including; Open Water text book and study guide, dive tables, deluxe dive log and Open Water video or DVD. The open water dives will be conducted in Monterey, Catalina or the Channel Islands, based upon our monthly schedule.

This program requires that you purchase;
A complete SCUBA system which includes;
A) Personal Snorkeling Package, i.e.; mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, knife and mesh gear bag.
B) Personal Wetsuit Package, i.e.; cold water wetsuit or dry suit and hood (tropical wetsuit may be substituted.)
C) Personal Scuba Package, i.e.; buoyancy compensator with weights, regulator with safe second and gauges or dive computer
D) Personal Cargo Bag / Travel Bag

.The Open Water Diving Course is the first phase of your scuba education. At this level, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including the operation of dive equipment and diving techniques. Upon completion, you will have the skills to dive with a buddy, independent of a scuba professional. We have a variety of different classroom and testing environments to meet your individual needs.

All students must sign up and pay at the same time to get class discounts!
Includes;
Student kit - textbook, dive tables & DVD or video.
Use of BCD, regulator, wetsuit, tanks and weights for pool and ocean dives.

Part 1: Group Weekend Classroom & Pool
Our group classes are held on the weekends and consist of one weekend at our Visalia location. The classroom and pool training is held on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm, with a break for lunch each day. In order to provide excellent service and an interactive teaching environment, we limit our weekend classes to two groups of no more than 6 students each. This weekend prepares you for our Open Water Training held in Monterey or the Channel Islands, or if you already have a trip planned, you can utilize the Tropical Referral Program) to finish your training at a warm water destination. Classes fill up quickly, so be sure to call and make your reservation as soon as possible.

Part 2: Open Water Training
The classroom and pool weekend is followed by the Open Water Training weekend held in Monterey or the Channel Islands. This is also Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm

 

**Prerequisites and Physical Requirements**
Prospective students must be in good health and complete a medical prescreening to insure their safety during the course. Please contact us if you have questions about a currently-existing medical condition.
